Ethan Thomas is a local hero. He’s a former fire fighter and now works heading up the search and rescue team for the Forest Service.
When he was just a rookie fireman, he was sent to a warehouse fire that escalated quickly. The building exploded and the facade crumbled down on the ladder where he was rescuing a boy.
He and his fellow firefighters saved two young boys from certain death. The boy he saved was homeless and he took the boy in and became his foster dad. After a second accident, he changed to the search and rescue team.
He is head of the team and runs a Boy Scout Explorer Post for Search and Rescue. His team recently rescued a couple of boys that were lost by Grizzly Falls.
A true hometown hero!
